A Bit About Us
The Whakatipu Ski Club is located on Coronet Peak ski area, Queenstown, New Zealand and was established in June 1949. Over the years the club has produced a large number of New Zealand ski team members, New Zealand ski team coaches as well as Olympic skiers.
The current hut was built in 1979 and has been extended over the years with the most recent extension being in 2006. The club's focus these days is on facilitating ski & snowboard lessons for children, getting as many kids as possible out there on the snow, and a friendly family atmosphere in the hut.
Our hut includes remote working facilities, WIFI, a day room, well equipped kitchen, lounge with log burner, ski storage lockers, and a large sun deck.
Personal ski lockers are available on an annual basis to our members for a small charge.
The income of the club is through annual memberships and the Whakatipu Ski Club Sale that is held in May of each year. The sale has been running for over 30 years with well over 100 members being involved each year.
The Whakatipu Ski Club prides itself on its contribution to the Queenstown sporting community and is committed to assisting local families enjoy our mountains.
