Wakatipu Ski Club's Polar Bear Club is a 'parental sanity-saving' babysitting service for club members' preschoolers at our Coronet Peak hut.
It operates on Wed, Thur & Fri mornings, plus weekend mornings and afternoons, depending on demand and what caregivers we can employ. It operates purely on a pre-booked, up-front payment basis.
PBC is not a licensed crèche and it is not available for your friends or family. Session times are 9.30am-12.30pm on weekdays, and 9.45-12.45, 1.15-4.15 at weekends.
We have an upper limit of 15 children and limited space for babies. Minimum age is 8 months and maximum age is 4 years. Bookings are taken on a 'first in' basis.
You will find the enrolment form and the rules at the bottom of this page. Costs are $15/session/child. When there are siblings in the same session, the second/third/etc are charged at $10/(or if one is a baby requiring an extra caregiver, the full cost will apply).
If we can find caregivers in time, we will aim to start offering PBC sessions at least by the July school holidays - earlier if possible. Bookings, which are taken on a 'first in' basis, will close on June 10.
